Common F3125 Configurations

A common configuration of F593 grades is the stud. Studs are typically short and fully threaded. They are typically ordered with a nut on each end. The difference between studs and all thread rod is the way it is measured. Studs are measured from the first full thread to the last full thread instead of the overall length.

When ordering a F593 bolt they are most ordered as hex bolts. Each F593 alloy group has its own unique dimensional requirements. Refer to the group’s page for the exact requirements. We measure head bolts from the bottom of the head to the end of the length of bolt.
The final configuration covered by the ASTM F593 specification is the hex cap screw. The difference between the hex bolt and hex cap screw is the allowable tolerances. Cap screws have much tighter tolerances than hex bolts.
